Forgiveness Is Unconditional

When I said my forgiveness
of the past was unconditional,
I meant it.

When I let you go, long ago,
so that you can fly,
I meant it.

When I recovered from my own
blame, grief, and sadness of
the past, I never want to go back.

There’s no victim here.
All of us are trying to grow.

Let’s begin anew with a blank slate.

My heart is open as it ever was.

We’ve come so far.

For once in my life, I have no regrets
and I will have none from this
day forward.

If you’ll let me, we can take it
one day at a time.
