The Scars that You Left

Life’s scars etch deep
within my groin.
At the edge of pain
I am triggered by the
memory of you.
At the end of your
sunrise, you
plied me with pain
that carved deep
roots inside my soul.
For every joy
you robbed me
of my freedom.
For every pain
you demanded
more of the same.
You feasted on
the pleasures
of my emotions.
This is not love.
It’s a sadist’s fantasy.
I can’t leave
a past that’s
robbing my future.
I healed but
I remember
every lasting lie
that you told.
