Very true that people use kindness to reel people in and get what they want in reciprocity. When you pull back and say no, they will leave. That's the test is that true friendships are not based on what you can do for them but on who you are as a person. When there's no "benefits" to be drawn, but when you are relating to each other and helping each other when you simply want to, then you don't even evaluate whether they are being genuine. You know it. It takes time to grow relationships. But, with history it's easier.
