Yes I agree. I believe it’s “absolute dedication” that is importatnt for those banks. They have a large pool of candidates who want to work for them. There’s no incentive to change the culture. The culture is cut throat but it’s also the business.. It’s not a male/female issue. It’s the same for men. Unfortunately for the kids, they don’t get a very involved dad either. Men are frequently choosing wives who don’t want to work after marriage. I do think there are certain career path that is more family friendly that women should consider.. Banking remains a solid first career that women should consider.. but it is not the only career for business minded women. There’s always room for change/growth.
